Unit Two - How To Boost Our Search Power
In the last unit, we started exploring search terms for our first essay. This week we'll continue building upon those ideas and stretching our search engine wings. By the end of the unit, we'll have a rough outline to build our draft from.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of Unit 2, you will be able to
- Use several different options to constrain Google search results: by time, reading level, search terms, and modifiers.
- Find and use subject directories to search for information online.
- Find and use non-Google search products to search for information online.
- Identify which online search methods are best for finding information for your particular career path.
- Organize a comparison essay, using either a point-by-point or topic-by-topic approach.
FOR FURTHER PRACTICE
These resources are not (usually) mandatory, but will often prove valuable in helping you complete other assignments within the unit. Use them at your discretion.
