Captioning and Transcription 

All videos are required to have automatic closed captioning imported. According to Panopto, target completion time for videos one hour or shorter is 8 hours.Target completion time for videos over an hour is 1 day.

Transcripts are not required to be posted in Canvas with the videos, but are highly encouraged. Writing a script enhances your conversational tone (reducing the ums and hmms).

Sharing Videos and Public Videos 

Videos hosted in Panopto are set to a default so that only TVCC students, faculty, and staff have viewing rights. Video settings can be changed to allow for public videos. 

• If you wish to keep the default, only students enrolled in the course where a video is hosted, will be allowed to view your video. 
• If you wish to create a public video, you should notify and receive confirmation from Distance Learning first. Public videos should include completed edits, professional visual elements, and be 100% accessible to viewers.
