Course Purpose

Whether you are a staff member or a faculty member at TVCC at some point you will be interacting with a student (or another employee) that has a disability. We all have an obligation to provide access and services to all students. TVCC is committed to accessibility and your participation in this introductory course is part of the process to move TVCC to compliance with not only government mandates but the benefits of universal design for all students, staff, and faculty.

This course is designed to be self-paced and provide you information specific to building Canvas course content that is accessible for all your students.  It will be a resource for you to return to as need be.  For additional support with Canvas content, please contact TVCC's Distance Learning Department at (903) 675-6286 or ecourseshelp@tvcc.edu. Thank you for taking this step to learn more!

 ADA Compliance

This session does not address the ADA laws or TVCC policies relative to accessibility.

Students with disabilities who wish to request accommodations should notify the Disability Services Office on their campus. In accordance with federal law, a student requesting accommodations must provide documentation of his/her disability to the Disability Services counselor.
