Canvas Student App

The Canvas Student app can help you access your courses while you're away from a computer browser. However, not all Canvas features are currently supported in the app. The app comes in handy for checking messages, announcements, and grades. Do not use the app for taking exams.

You can find information about how to download and use the Canvas app in the Canvas Guide. Links to an external site.

How to Set Your Canvas Notification Preferences

You can select how and when you want to be notified when various events occur within a course. You will be notified whenever there is a change in a due date, an updated assignment, or a message sent from within Canvas. Canvas supports notification through email, SMS text message, and Twitter. You can choose to receive notification alerts immediately, daily, weekly, or never.

The notification preferences you set will apply to ALL of your Canvas eCourses. Learn how to set your notification preferences Links to an external site..

Netiquette

Netiquette means etiquette on the Internet (or net). In an online course, you will be speaking through written word both to fellow students and instructors, so it is imperative to communicate well and professionally. Mostly, when speaking in an online course, the same rules apply for etiquette as in real-time. Accepted standards of computer etiquette will be expected in this class. For information about computer etiquette, see the Core Rules of Netiquette

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is the pursuit of scholarly activity in an open, honest and scholarly manner. Academic integrity is a basic guiding principle for all academic activity at Trinity Valley Community College, and all members of the College community are expected to act in accordance with this principle. Consistent with this expectation, the College states that all students shall act with personal integrity, respect other students’ dignity, rights and property, and help establish and maintain an environment in which all can succeed. Violations of academic integrity will be handled as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct section. of the catalog.
